Junior Athletic Games

The Blue Foundation is proud to sponsor the annual J.A.G. event.

In April of 2024 the Leesburg Police Department hosted its 29th annual Junior Athletic Games (J.A.G.). There were more than 300 students registered from local schools, Beverly Shores Elementary, Leesburg Elementary, Fruitland Park Elementary, Treadway Elementary and The Villages Elementary to participate. The students were selected by coaches based on their athletic ability, grades, and behavior.

Established in 1995, these games were the brainchild of Leesburg's school resource officers. The concept behind J.A.G. is to allow students to compete in a supervised climate, where fun and sportsmanship is stressed. The event facilitates positive interactions between Leesburg Police Officers and the children in our community.

Events include the Long Jump, Soccer Kick, Softball Throw, Football Throw, 50 Yard Dash, 100 Yard Dash and the ½ Mile Run. Each student receives a t-shirt and a certificate of participation. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners receive a medal and a trophy is presented to the school with the highest number of points based on placement.

J.A.G. is always a fun and favorite event for our officers, schools and, most of all,the students who participate each year!
